Top/ Executive Leaders: Cure the Misuse and Abuse of Authority & Power, because Each Person Matters

While my voice and platform are small, my passion for real, root-solution, sustainable change and continuous improvement, specifically around broader topics from a holistic approach, is great.

Instead of spending countless weeks, years and decades talking and debating about the results of misconduct from people in powerful positions, why not get to the root of the problem with the categorical intent to design a cure for the misuse and abuse of authority?

Let’s stop repeating history and effectuate eternal positive change! As centuries of history has shown us, the world has been and will always be infected with assholes who believe they are untouchable, the highest or above the law, having to answer to no one. That doesn’t mean that Top/ Executive Leaders have to one of those assholes or supports the misconduct of people who are in positions of authority and power.

We need Top/ Executive Leaders to make curing the misuse and abuse of authority & power a Top priority, because each person matters. Are you all doing that?

Misuse and abuse of authority is any action that negatively impacts the life of someone whose power or authority is less than that of the abusive leader.

Curing the misuse and abuse of authority & power disease means that Top/ Executive Leaders implement real, enduring solutions to ensure that each person they are responsible for leading, representing or protecting is treated right, fairly, and justly.

Each person matters means that every single human being deserves to be treated right, fairly and justly, regardless of the individual’s background, socioeconomic status, age, gender, ethnicity, religion, sexual preference, or their past; whether you can relate to the person or not; and whether you like the person or not – liking someone is a bonus, not a privilege.

How Top/ Executive Leaders cure the misuse and abuse of authority and power seems simple:

  • Have a good heart, illuminating courage, fair judgement and what is right
  • Be reasonable, demonstrating character and integrity
  • Show & Respect that each person’s life and livelihood are just as valuable as yours
  • Don’t be quick to judge; Seek to understand, listening effectively and asking the right questions
  • Do the right thing for each person!

Serious issues, which are sometimes irresponsibly sensationalized by the mass media and appear to be merely entertained by upper leaderships, just seem to linger like an incorrigible war.

From price gouging and greed to sexual harassment and workplace bullying to police brutality to inequality to systemic racism [ that is even publicly recognized by Ben&Jerry’s ] to government corruption and cover-ups to discrimination and racism . . . When will all evils end?

Evils, which are results of root issues, will end when the real root issue is cured. The root issue of evils is the misuse and abuse of authority & power.

Discussions, debates, protests are finite. At the end of the day, what really changes and for how long? Why are people in positions of authority & power continuously allowed to recklessly disrupt the lives of others?

How long will there be thin to no accountability for people’s lives being negatively impacted by the misuse and abuse of authority & power? How can Top/ Executive Leaders live with themselves knowing that they could help cure the misuse and abuse of authority but choose not to?

When Top/ Executive Leaders do nothing to very little to eradicate misconduct [ that is often fueled by hate, racism and/ or jealousy ] then they are just as, if not more, culpable as other leaders who misuse and abuse their authority & power.

When a true effective cure is implemented and sustained, people in positions of authority & power will think twice before they cause mental, emotional, financial, social, physical harm to any person.

Top/ Executive Leaders: Do you really get it? Does your heart allow you to acknowledge and accept that people’s lives are negatively impacted by leaders and people in positions of authority who misuse and abuse their authority & power?

Top/ Executive Leaders: What exactly do you get and understand when you say to people, ‘I understand’?

  • What would you do if you didn’t have plenty of money or know someone to get another job and you were black-balled/ blocked from getting a job, even though you are eligible for rehire?
  • When was the last time you had to work long hours or multiple jobs just to make ends meet, because people in positions of authority were filled with greed and put themselves and profits before people, instead of ensuring that all people are paid fairly — non-Caucasian males make just as much if not more than white men?
  • How were you able to take care of yourself and/or your loved ones because essentials (housing, healthcare, medication, healthy food, childcare, cleaning and safety supplies) were too expensive or prices skyrocketed during uncertain times or a crisis or pandemic?
  • What did you do when your bad boss unleashed their hatefulness and retaliation onto you – you were treated unfairly, harassed, endured a hostile working environment, were bullied, et al.?
  • What happened to that bully [ bad ] boss who lied on your performance review or kept blocking you from getting other jobs or rehired?
  • How did it make you feel when a person in a position of authority & power expected you to have sexual intercourse, anal sex, or perform fellatio or cunnilingus to get a promotion or help you with a situation?
  • How did it feel to be discriminated against by someone in a powerful role because of your age, gender, color, race, religion, or sexual preference?
  • How did you get your life back on track after unjustly spending time in jail for a crime you either did not commit or the punishment did not fit the crime?
  • What did it feel like when an asshole police officer harassed or brutalized you, your spouse, your child, your father, or your mother, or unjustifiably caused the death of someone you cared about?

When will Top/ Executive Leaders cure the misuse and abuse of authority & power?

  • How long will prices on essential items keep rising?
  • How many more hard-working people have to quit their bully [ bad ] bosses before Top/ Executive Leaders cure the misuse and abuse of authority?
  • How many more people have to sexually harassed before Top/ Executive Leaders cure the misuse and abuse of power?
  • How many more “whistle-blowers” have to be let go before Top/ Executive Leaders wipe out the misuse and abuse of authority?
  • How many more lawsuits due to evils have to be filed before Top/ Executive Leaders cure the misuse and abuse of authority?
  • How many more complaints have to be filed against people in positions of authority before you as a Top/ Executive Leader seriously ends the misuse and abuse of authority & power?
  • How many more defenseless, unarmed people have to be unjustly harassed, brutalized, and/or killed by asshole police offices before Top/ Executive Leaders abolish the misuse and abuse of authority? [ When was the last time you heard of an affluent person (specifically wealthy or rich white man or his family member) being gunned down or murdered by the police, like a wild animal? ]

When people in Top/ Executive roles care enough, give a damn, about doing the right thing for each they are responsible for leading, representing, or protecting, they will cure the misuse and abuse of authority & power.

Top/ Executive Leaders: What are you consistently doing to cure the misuse and abuse of authority?
